NERFA Joel Pomerantz Memorial guerilla showcase

Joel Pomerantz was a tireless supporter of NERFA (Northeast Regional Folk Alliance). He overcame any obstacles, physical or financial, to make it every year and he spent all year promoting it to people and organizations in this area. That is why SAW, Focus Music, Takoma Park Folk Festival, Institute of Musical Traditions, World Folk Music Association, and Moore Music in the House have joined together to make a memorial guerrilla showcase in his honor. Joel was on the spectrum and had a number of physical challenges. They were overcome by his boundless energy and encyclopedic knowledge of music to create connections for new artists every year. His legacy is best seen in the network of cooperation among many of the folk music orgs in his sphere.

As President and VP of SAW, we were part of the team that put together these showcases, and are lucky enough to be one of the acts too. Streaming as part of the online conference in Nov 2021; will be posted publicly later (stay tuned).
